Why do I need to be Saved?
We are all infected with what the Bible calls Sin. We are born with sin, and we all personally choose to Sin.
Sin is what makes us unsaved. Sin is what separates us from God. Sin is what has us on the path to eternal destruction.
Because of our sin, we all deserve death. While the physical consequence of Sin is physical death, that is not the only kind of death that results from Sin. All Sin is ultimately committed against an eternal and infinite God.
Because of that, the just penalty for our Sin is also eternal and infinite. What we need to be saved from is eternal destruction.

How am I Saved?
Because the just penalty for Sin is infinite and eternal, only God could pay the penalty, because only He is infinite and eternal. But God, in His divine nature, could not die. So God became a human being in the person of Jesus Christ. God took on human flesh, lived among us, and taught us.
When the people rejected Him and His message, and sought to kill Him, He willingly sacrificed Himself for us, allowing Himself to be crucified. Because Jesus Christ was human, He could die; and because Jesus Christ was God, His death had an eternal and infinite value.
Jesusâ death on the cross was the perfect and complete payment for our sin. He took the consequences we deserved. Jesusâ resurrection from the dead demonstrated that His death was indeed the perfectly sufficient sacrifice for Sin.
âBelieve in the Lord Jesus, and you will be savedâ (Acts 16:31). God has already done all of the work. All you must do is receive, in faith, the salvation God offers. Fully trust in Jesus alone as the payment for your Sins.
Believe in Him, and you will not perish. God is offering you Salvation as a gift. All you have to do is accept it. Jesus is the way of Salvation.
Believing is more than a thought, but a full life of surrender to the One who has saved us.

What is Baptism?
Through baptism, we follow Christâs example and obey His command. Baptism by immersion, symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of the believer to new life in Christ. As believers, it is our public profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
A proper understanding of baptism is vital: There is no saving power in baptism- salvation is by grace alone. Baptism should always follow salvation, never precede it.
Our word "baptize" is an adaptation of the Greek word "baptizo," which translates to "immerse" or "submerge." Scripture tells us that Jesus came up out of the water when He was baptized.
Why Should I be Baptized?
We are encouraged to be baptized by the example of Christ. Jesus began his public ministry with baptism. Throughout the New Testament, baptism was the first response for believers.
In Romans 6:4-5, the Scripture declares the importance of baptism for every believer. Thus, our motive in baptism is obedience to Christ.
Why is church membership important?
Church membership is important for several reasons:
- In joining a church you make visible your commitment to Christ and his people (Acts 2:42).
- It identifies the team members that are ready to do the work of the church. (Romans 12:4-6)
- It offers a support system for believers who are weak or hurting. (2 Corinthians 12:24-26)
- It enables believers to use their spiritual gifts alongside other believers to grow the church. (1 Peter 4:10)
- It grants the privilege of providing ministry and leadership to the local church body. (Acts 6:1-7)
- It establishes a measure of responsibility and accountability for beliefs and behavior. (Hebrews 13:7)
How can I become a member?
We believe that if you are saved and have been obedient in taking your next step of believer's baptism you are able to be a member here. This goes for those coming from other churches or those who are saved here.
If you want to follow through with membership, simply click the "Take My Next Step" button and select that you want to become a member. Alternatively, you can speak with one of our Ministers in our Sunday Morning Services about becoming a member.

Why Should I Serve?
Jesus set the standard for how to serve and who to serve. In Mark 10:43-45, Jesus says, "Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.â
Those who want to become great within the Kingdom of God follow the example and call of Jesus to serve others.
How Can I Serve?
We serve by using the gifts, talents, and abilities that the Lord has given us. At Maplewood FBC, the weekly services and events would not be possible without the Church working together to glorify Jesus.
There are different Ministries that are available to serve in each week. If you are unsure about where you should serve, we would love to help connect you with an area that is best suited for your gifts, talents, and abilities.
